Who we are

weirdOS makes this extension. We are a design company based in Winchester, California. Orbit is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn. Email us about anything on this page.

What gets read?

When you open Orbit, it checks LinkedIn’s login cookies and reads your name and picture, to show who is signed in. Your headline comes with them. A Premium account gets a gold LinkedIn badge on that picture. Orbit also looks for an open login at Claude and Gemini, to show which AI is ready. Once your connections are drawn, Orbit looks at that login cookie again whenever a LinkedIn page loads, so a sign out clears them.

Once you press Continue and pick an AI, Orbit reads your connections and the recommendations written for you.

Where does that information go?

Orbit has no server. What it reads is kept in Chrome on your computer, and none of it reaches weirdOS. Each photo is copied in too, because LinkedIn’s own links to the photos stop working after a while. The extension has no analytics, ads or tracking.

When you ask a question, Orbit sends it to the AI you picked, through the account open in this browser. The question travels with who you are, as LinkedIn shows it, and one line about every connection.

Photos and profile addresses are never sent.

What does the AI keep?

That is between you and the company behind the AI, under the terms of your account with them. Orbit asks Claude in a temporary chat. Gemini has no such setting, so it can save each question the way it saves any other chat, and you can delete it there. Questions count toward the limits of your plan.

Can Orbit change my LinkedIn?

No. Orbit only reads. It will not post, message, connect or change your account. Orbit also never sees your password, because you sign in on LinkedIn itself. When you choose another account, LinkedIn’s own pages handle the change in a tab.

What are the permissions for?

Which rules apply?

Orbit follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. What Orbit reads is used only to draw the map and answer your questions. It leaves your browser only alongside a question, for the one AI chosen. It is never sold.

What about this site?

Vercel serves these pages and keeps standard server logs, meaning an IP address, a browser name and the page requested. These pages also run Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics to understand how the site gets used. They record how visitors move through the pages, things like clicks, scrolls and where attention goes, so we can see what is confusing and fix it. These two keep their own cookies. If your browser is on a European time zone, they wait until you agree on the banner, and everywhere else they start when the page loads. Saying no from the Cookies link at the bottom of any page clears what they stored. The extension never runs either one.

The map on the home page is a sample full of made up people. Its 3D drawing code loads from jsDelivr, which keeps the same kind of server log.

How do I delete my data?

Signing out of LinkedIn clears your connections from Orbit. Removing the extension deletes everything it kept, including the name and photo of each LinkedIn account that used Orbit here. weirdOS never receives any of this, so there is nothing to delete on our side. Questions you asked live in your AI account, and that is the place to remove them. You can still write to us and we will answer.
