hello@weirdos.designWhich browsers work?
Chrome on a desktop computer.
How do I open Orbit?
Click the Orbit icon in your Chrome toolbar. Orbit opens over a LinkedIn tab. Back to LinkedIn, or the Escape key, closes it.
Why do I have to sign in?
Orbit reads from the LinkedIn account already open in this browser. If you are signed out, press Sign in to LinkedIn and log in the way you always do, on the tab that opens. That tab closes once you are in, and Orbit is ready with your name on the button.
Which AIs work?
Claude and Gemini. Orbit asks through the account you already have open there, so each question counts toward the limits of that plan. With no AI you still get the map, the list of people and your recommendations.
What does Orbit do on my LinkedIn?
Orbit reads your connections and the recommendations written for you. It never posts, messages or connects with anyone. The privacy page lists every detail it reads and where each one goes.
Does LinkedIn approve of Orbit?
Orbit is not affiliated with or endorsed by LinkedIn. LinkedIn’s user agreement restricts tools that read a profile for its owner, and LinkedIn can limit an account over it. Your connections are read once you press Continue and pick an AI, and again on each Update.
How do I use a different LinkedIn account?
Before Orbit has read anything, press Use another account on the first screen. LinkedIn ends the current login in Chrome and asks for the other person’s, on a tab of its own. Once a map exists, sign out of LinkedIn and back in as the other person, and Orbit starts over with their connections. Orbit never sees a password.
How do I bring in new connections?
Press Update, next to the date under your name. Orbit reads LinkedIn again and replaces the old map.
The read stopped before it finished.
Wait a few minutes and press Continue again. If LinkedIn signed you out in the meantime, sign back in first.
How do I change the look?
The Orbit name in the top left corner opens the choices. Pick Night or Day, and a color.
How do I remove Orbit?
- Right-click Orbit in the toolbar.
- Choose Remove from Chrome, then confirm.
Removing Orbit also deletes the connections, photos and settings it kept in Chrome.
